The Commission has at all times strived to make equal Access to Justice for All in Sri Lanka.
By section 5 of the Legal Aid Law No 27 of 1978 the Legal Aid Commission comprises three members appointed by the Hon. Minister of Justice and six members appointed by the Bar Council of Sri Lanka. The Chairman is appointed by the members of the Commission. All activities of the Commission are carried out under the guidance and directives, decisions of the Chairman and members of the Commission.
